Letting go.

Sometimes, you need to learn to let go.  I listened to a podcast on Monday from Pinelake Church, and the theme was "Moving Out." It was about how we need to let go of the past, both the good things like past successes, and the bad things like hurts and failures. With letting go, we must ask for God to give us a new lens through which we view our past, like Joseph did, as he saw God's hand in every detail, even when his brothers tried to kill him then sold him into slavery, then how he was arrested, falsely accused, the list could go on.  But in the end, when he was face with it all, this is what he said in Genesis 50:19-20,  "'Do not fear, for am I in the place of God?As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. It's as if Bethany Dillon wrote this song by looking into my heart. But really. So good. God is good, and I love how He uses music to speak to us.   "Lord, you know what I need to do today, but you could do more in my waiting than in my doing I could do." Remember, if you are also in a period of waiting, what Isaiah says, that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength and rise up on wings like eagles, not growing weary or faint (Isaiah 40). She had been to doctor after doctor to try and remedy the problem, but, even after spending all of her money, her suffering only grew worse. She had almost lost all hope. But then she heard that Jesus was coming to her town. She knew that if she could even just touch the hem of His robe, she would be healed. She pressed her way through the crowd, and reached out for Jesus. With just a brush of her hand on His robe, she felt the bleeding stop. She knew that she was healed.  Suddenly, everything stopped moving. Jesus stopped in the midst of the crowd and said, "Who touched me?" His disciples were bewildered by his question, an
